Rock hails from Gatineau, Québec. He picked up the bass at the age of 15 when a friend in need of money sold him his first bass guitar for $75.00. Having never played a musical instrument, he took a few lessons to learn the basics of bass playing and went to work. A few months later, he joined a school band and played several shows before sizable crowds.
Riding on the success of the school band, he later joined 2 other local bands. All the rehearsals in the world failed to land a single gig! Rock became a basement bass player and so began countless hours of woodshed sessions resulting in rattling foundations and popping picture frames from walls!
Career commitments saw him move to Alberta where he spent the better part of 13 years. During that time, he only picked up the bass on a few occasions. Instead he started singing. He worked on finding vocal harmonies a singing lead vocals as he got on stage with many bands as a guest performer. The music bug never left him.
In 2001 he returned to the Capital region and re-kindled the flame with
his beloved bass guitar. He joined a local band and performed live
during a period of 2 years. In the spring of 2007, after placing an ad
on a local internet music website, he met Kyle, Brian and Chris. The
four became Collision Course…
Rock’s - Musical interests are mainly alternative rock acts (Breaking
Benjamin, Finger Eleven, 3 Days Grace, Alice in Chains) and anything
loud! He is inspired by bass players such as Flea, Mike Dirnt (Green
Day), Tobin Esperance (Papa Roach), Rob Trujillo (Metallica).
